Pheidias' shop where he created the
chryselephantine statue of Zeus.
Pheidias' self portrait was shown
on the shield of the goddess Athena, in
the battle of the Amazons. He was portrayed as an old bold man, holding
up a great stone with both his hands,
as Plutarch tell us.
