This silver coin was minted to emphasize the idea of confederacy of the
Achaean League (after 280 BC). Each city of the league had in her coins as
a standard the laureate head of Zeus and on the reverse
the symbol of that city. We can see the Dove (the symbol of Sikyon)
underneath the Achaean League monogram.
