The east pediment of the temple of Zeus

Reconstruction of the East pediment, of the temple of Zeus at Olympia which
was begun about 572 BC by the Elean Libo and completed about 450 BC.
It depicted the myth of the chariot race between Pelops and Oenomaos,
with Zeus standing between the two teams. It was designed by Paeonios.

West pediment of the temple of Zeus

Reconstruction of the West pediment, of the temple of Zeus at Olympia.
It depicted the fight between Centaurs, who were guests at the wedding of the Lapith
hero Peirithoos, and the Lapithae. The Centaurs, after getting drunk, they tried to
abduct the bride Deidameia and the other Lapithae women. In the middle standing is
Apollo, with Peirithoos and Theseus on each side, fighting the Centaurs.
It was designed by Alkamenes of Athens.
