Reconstruction of the golden
Tripod of Plataea, dedicated at
Delphi from the one tenth of the
spoils of the battle (479 BC). In
the bodies of the three bronze
snakes, the names of the cities
which took part, were engraved.
The three snakes of the Tripod of Plataea,
was transferred to Constantinople by the
emperor Constantine, where it stands today
in the Hippodrome Square. The names of the cities, which took part in the
battle, are written in the body.
