Eirene and Ploutos Early 4th century BC. This statue is a copy of the original which was made by Kephisodotos, a relative of Praxiteles (father or elder brother). Eirene, the goddess of peace, is holding the infant Ploutos, god of wealth. It is an excellent work especially in expression and work on the drapery, which reminds the style of Pheidias times. |
